Well howdy GREATER Giving partners! As part of this week’s blog, I am highlighting three opportunities for us carry forward our mission of locking arms and lifting our neighbors.

DO: Austin Disaster Relief Network has numerous opportunities for volunteering as well as training to help you do so. You can find all the information you need on their site.

BE: I think Gandhi was spot on when he encouraged us to “be the change”. The outpouring of love and support that we have seen over the past several weeks is telling of the fact that us Texans get it. What an amazing community! There are so many touching stories, but I found the one about Jay and Jennifer Bachman to be of particular interest as it hit home for me. Being a Southern girl, I learned by watching my grandmother and great grandmother love through food and caretaking of all sorts, so this couple definitely pulled at my heartstrings. Check out their story and an opportunity to give a little Southern hospitality to flood victims by helping them as they serve up comfort food to feed those in need.

SEE: And after you have done and been, you might find yourself in need of a little respite and time with friends and family. If this is the case, head on out on for a day of live music and family fun at the day-long benefit concert, Flood Aid TX.

Well, that’s all for now ya’ll. Let’s all find ways to be GREATER givers AND “the change” in the days to come.
